Ways To Get Involved

WORK & LEARNS

Whether you have skills with a chain saw, restoration burning, loppers, growing plants from seed, monitoring, pulling weeds, or want to learn new skills we need your help in the field.

If you are a professional or experienced in some way that will help with restoration efforts in the field, tell us what you can offer.

Julian Wilson is the Volunteer Coordinator who helps volunteers get connected with FoPC programs, events and activities. Contact Julian at [email protected].

If you are new to conservation work, tell us that too, and how much time you can give.  We maintain a list of volunteers whom we can call for workdays, as well as those willing to commit to a certain number of hours per week or month. We will find a preserve close to you, and provide you with the training you need. Contact the Volunteer Coordinator (Julian Wilson) at [email protected], to sign up for an event near you.

PRESERVE STEWARDS

Stewards are selected for their knowledge, their willingness to work under sometimes difficult situations, and to work according to the Management Plan established by NCPCP staff.  Frequent activities are invasive species removal, trash removal, boundary walks, and reporting activities to the staff.  Other activities depend on the site and the needs of the protected plant species. Do you live near a preserve and are willing to become a dedicated volunteer?
